Anlun Wan(万安伦)

Anlun Wan, Doctor of Literature, is a professor and doctoral supervisor in the School of Journalism and Communication at Beijing Normal University (BNU), China.

Profile

Prof. Wan has several directorial roles, including the following:

· Director of the Convergence Media Laboratory for Digital Publishing and Digital Humanities in the Ministry of Education (MOE) (supported by the Department of Higher Education);

· Director of BNU’s Research Centre for Digital Publishing and Digital Humanities;

· Director of the Research Centre for International Communication of Publishing and Printing;

· Director of the Beijing Research Centre for Civilization & Etiquette (led by Beijing Municipal Committee for Development Spiritual Civilization ). 

 

He is a part-time professor in the School of History of BNU and of the Communication University of China; and is a visiting professor of BNU’s Beijing Cultural Development Research Institute. Prof. Wan’s expertise allows him to contribute to many influential bodies. He is:

· An expert in the think tank of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC (Communist Party of China);

· An evaluation expert for the National Social Science Foundation (NSSF) project and Post-funded project of NSSF, and

· An expert evaluator of Yangtze River Scholar Professor Appointment of the MOE.

 

Prof. Wan is a special contributor to several media outlets, including People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, China Central Television Station (CCTV), and Beijing Daily. His knowledge and expertise have also been recognized in academia.  In September 2014, Prof Wan’s monograph ‘Virtue Illuminating Life: Patriotic Chapter’ received the Best Works Award Conferred by the Publicity Department of the CPC; another monograph ‘History of Chinese and Foreign Publishing awarded honour on A presentation to the 19th Session of National Congress of the CPC’ in September 2017 .  He was included in “the ten most popular teachers for Postgraduates in BNU” in September 2019, and in November 2020, his MOOC on the History of Chinese and Foreign Publishing was rated “The first session of national first class undergraduate course”. 

 

He had several former positions, including the following:

· Deputy chief editor of Chinese Talents semimonthly magazine;

· Assistant to executive dean of BNU’s Beijing Cultural Development Research Institute;

· Vice dean of BNU’s Publishing Science Research Institute;

· Executive director of BNU’s Education Training Center, and

· One of the three members of preparatory team for setting up the School of Journalism and Communication at BNU
