Shen Jiang(姜申)
Profile
Dr. Jiang studied postmodern cinema in Beijing and Leicester (U.K.) before switching to media and cultural studies, where he was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Canterbury, NZ. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, Beijing Normal University. His principal areas of research are visual media and communication. He is one of the translators of Reinvention of Everyday Life: Culture in the Twenty-First Century (Fudan University Press, 2011)
and the author of Post-modern Nostalgia: A Dissemination of Contemporary Chinese Visual Culture (China Civil Aviation Press, 2013) & Introduction to New Media Art (China Drama Publishing House, 2013). He has published widely on film and digital arts in China, with research interests also in video industry and museum exhibition & communication.
